Letter to Bolivia – Mucho Más – Verse 1 and 2

Dear Bolivia,

I know that a lot of bad things have happened to you, both in the past and recently. Circumstances have left you feeling powerless. Bullies have surrounded you, and taken from you, and your attempts to fight back have left you feeling weaker and weaker. There have also been many attempts to deal with your own internal issues, however the only change that came seemed like old bandages being switched out for dirtier bandages.

However, despite all this, I say to you:

Lift up your head

Raise your gaze

See the sun smiling over you

The moon and the stars know the secret

That you are about to discover (“Mucho Más” first verse, translated from Spanish)

Don’t let past failures and former tragedies define you. You are much more than what you think, you just don’t see it yet. Your past has been preparing you for your future. You will rise up and shine as you realize the hidden potential you have been carrying inside you. Your potential is much deeper, much higher, and much vaster than the reasons that others have come to exploit you.

See the sun smiling over you and let its warm loving light melt off the chilling fear that keeps you stiff and immobilized.

Get up, shake yourself

It’s time to shine

Wake up, get ready

It’s time to change, a new vision

It’s time to sing a new song (“Mucho Más” second verse, translated from Spanish)

Sing and dance because you are free. Sing and dance because you are great. Sing and dance because you are much much more than what they say about you, much more than what you think.
